In Ancient Greece, communications that addressed a community’s values was called ‘epideictic rhetoric’ – that celebrated the values and accomplishments of a community as well as the characters of citizens and leaders – encouraging citizens to step back from every day routines and business –t o reflect and consider their actions within the longer arch of history. Some Native American cultures have a related tradition, where leaders ask what the effects of their actions might be ‘unto the seventh generation’.

NID has organized and facilitated policy workshops, seminars and symposia - bringing together stakeholders for facilitated dialogue and learning that will take action beyond the meeting itself.  Recent events are listed below; further information is available on request.
